Saplings Not Growing

New planted saplings are not growing. This is different from the MCPE-8232 bug of saplings not falling (which I am also experiencing). After chopping down the logs I break the leaves to get saplings. I then plant the saplings. No saplings that I have planted in the last 7 real days, and at least 30 game days have grown. It does not matter if I plant them in hoed earth, bare un-hoed dirt, or grass. I have only been cutting and planting birch, so I do not know if the tree type matters.
