Weird Boat Behavior

I was using a boat and a fire is about 5 blocks away and the boat randomly got caught on fire.
The way it is that the boat will burn in 0-18 blocks away from fire/lava instead of only just Zero blocks(The boat is at the place where the fire is) rather than 0-18 blocks and the further the fire the longer the boat will catch fire
