Loading the world splits a large chest in half

When I open a world that contains a large chest that lies on two chunks, the chest shows up split in two regular chests, not a large chest.

How to Reproduce:
1. Make a large chest
(make sure one half lies on one chunk and the other half lies on another adjacent chunk)
2. Exit the world and load it up again
3. The large chest will be split in two regular chests

No contents of the chest are lost when reloading the world.
