Vertical Respawn on top of House

After recently downloading the latest version on the UK App store and playing it a common bug was that I would Verticaly Respawn when I returned to world via the select world menu, the world would load and I would respawn on top of my house. It made no difference if I was in my 2 block high mineshaft or 2.5 block high house. This usually happened in all the versions I've played (I can't remember which) so I would ignore it. However I was playing and the glitch happened causing my house to be blown up by a creeper and Infested with spiders. I don't know how to (if I can) fix this so any advice would be appreciated.
