Netherite burning

When I tested to see if my netherite boots would burn I threw them in lava and they burned, I thought that netherite was supposed to not burn? also some of the ancient debris that i got burned in lava so I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen because i searched up on google and it said it doesn't burn and I also watched a video and it didn't burn.
(I took a video & my friend didn't take it because I killed them to see)
