End Pearl at Nether Portal fails to teleport between dimensions

Bug is: When you throw an ender pearl at a nether portal without any blocks behind it you will travel through the portal, but instead of switching dimensions you will be teleported to the coordinates on your current dimension.

E.g: Throwing pearl in the overworld at 800, 60, 800 will get you to around 80, something, 80 in the overworld. In the nether the opposite occurs.

Bug occurred when: Throwing ender pearl at a nether portal without blocks behind it.

Bug didn't occur when: Throwing ender pearl at a nether portal with blocks behind it.

Bug occurred on: Minecraft world hosted on xbox one, while I was playing on windows 10 edition.
