Lost all items in the nether

I died in the nether and I lost all the items. But there was no lava or fire. I was after 1 minute at the place I died, but there weren't any items or xp. My inventory was full, e.g. over 20 gold blocks, 1 netherite, 1 enchanted diamond sword, 2 gold swords, 2 diamond helmets, etc.
