Pressure plates stop boats

I've got an ice boat racetrack, and use pressure plates to mark the start/finish as well as start my lap timer. Apparently boats can no longer go over pressure plates, because it hit them and stopped like they were a wall. I looked in the history section of the wiki for pressure plates and boats, but I can't find anything there so I think it's a bug. I can use tripwire hooks but they slow the boat down. If it is an official change, please and it to the wiki or something so I know. Thank you for your help.
