I cannot join anything

I cannot join all of my worlds or my friends worlds... i uninstalled and installed minecraft, i can join but my skins became steve skins, i tried to change it but it wont change... i restarted minecraft, then all of my old worlds came back but i could't join anything again, this happened right after i updated my minecraft... pls fix it
