auto-craft takes enchanted fishing rod

i tried to make a carrot-on-a-stick and i got my carrot-on-a-stick, it just took my enchanted fishing rod instead of my newly crafted one. i used the auto-craft menu on the left side of the screen, and it was in the inventory crafting area, not a crafting table.
