Not able to create realms and change the mode of the game

Hello There,

I have been playing minecraft on my Surface for some time, but I am not able to change the modes of the games that are on realms or change a world into a realm. It says I am not connected to the microsoft store. I have unstalled the app and re-installed the app and still have the issue. I have called Xbox support and they referred me to you. Please help! This is what I like to do on the weekends and I can't do play right.
