Items will not go out of inventory or get off of cursor when in Inventory or trading

I was crafting stone slabs by shift clicking the crafting table recipe and then my inventory overflowed. I closed my inventory and reopened. When I got back into my Inventory the slabs would not go away. I can not use my inventory or move anything in it.
