random mobs spawn and sudden death

mobs seem to spawn randomly during the day and then i suddenly get the you have died screen, and then it says that i got killed by said mob (i happened to die by a creeper) that spawned randomly. didn’t seem to happen in single player but in multiplayer. (my friend also had the same issue, died by a spider that i didn’t even see)
