Iron golems keep being aggressive after respawing

Iron golems keep attacking players after they already died/ had been killed by iron golems. After roughly 3 seconds, after the player respawned, the iron golems continued attacking. Even after killing all the golems with the /kill command the golems still attacked as soon as they themselves spawned again. This is very annoying to say the least.
