Game won't launch after Nether update

Downloaded Nether update. New, red, Mojang screen comes up. Screen goes black then reverts to Xbox home screen. Have tried hard reset, switching off router, deleting local saved game data and multiple sign ons. Still nothing. The only thing we haven't tried is uninstalling and reinstalling the game. It came with the Xbox as a download so we have no discs and it would take forever.
