Items disappear whilst crafting

When crafting items, for example 4 wood planks to make a crafting table. when you create the item any remaining crafting items disappear. When you reopen the crafting UI they return. Also, if you have a full inventory the items will be just thrown to the ground.

 

Steps to reproduce:

1. Have 10 wood planks
2. Craft a crafting table.
3. Notice all 10 wood planks have disappeared
4. Reopen crafting UI, observe the 6 remaining wood planks have returned
