Too many mobs.

I'd like to enjoy the new nether update, but there's too many mobs. I understand it's supposed to be a dangerous, dark, gritty place and I love that, but it's no fun when you're constantly bombarded on all sides by ghast, skeletons, slime, endermen, etc. I literally kill 1 ghast and watch 2 to 4 take its place. I was stuck in one place for almost an hour killing mobs and didn't even progress more than 10 blocks. Bottom line, TONE IT DOWN A LITTLE BIT PLEASE!
