Sponge does not absorb the same amount of water in 1.16 compared to 1.14

Example a 5 by 6 block area in 1.14 could be drained by 2 sponges by placing one sponge in the middle of the 5 block wide wall on both sides(one block below the surface of water), that is no longer the case in 1.16
