1.16 Tanking CPU

Every time I hop into a world, my CPU fan speeds up and my Task Manager reports my CPU usage at 100%. My 2080 Super isn't doing any work. This wasn't happening this past weekend, only after I downloaded the nether update. After a while my game just crashes. I've even made sure that the game is using my GPU in the NVIDIA Control Panel and it doesn't change anything.
