Logging into Microsoft account with Minecraft Microsoft says connected and Minecraft says failed to log in

When logging into Microsoft with Minecraft,  Microsoft says connected and Minecraft says failed to login. What can I do to fix this? Have had Nintendo switch online since February and still can't use it.
