Me and my friend on Xbox 16.0 better together can't play together

Nothing we try will work every time we try to join each other it stops trying on joining multiplayer game and said unable to connect to world we've restarted redownloaded re added each other we can join other friends but not each other we've even checked NAT type but that didn't help anything (video below is on the 16.0.68 beta because it was a desperate attempt to get to play together but the exact same thing happened on the 16.0 version of the game)
