Nether Update 1.16 crashes after red Mojang splash screen

I was playing Minecraft on my laptop, noticed that the Nether update had dropped. I installed it from the Windows Store. Since installing, all I get is the new Mojang splash screen and then nothing, the game crashes and goes away.
