Sometimes I'm trying to put things away but it won't let me use it unless I'm open in a chest it also happens on java edition. It started since 20w21a I think

It happens on both bedrock and Java edition. Sometimes after playing for a while I need to use a chest to move the top right four items in my inventory. It doesn't happen all the time but it's supper annoying.
