Screen rotation flickering issue

So basically my phone went to sleep mode (not turned off) and when i opened it, minecraft couldn't figure out how to rotate the screen to fit the the landscape mode it normally should be. And the screen is split in two parts. One is the menu and the other one the minecraft loading screen (although i couldn't seem to be able to screenshot the mc loading screen) that just keeps flickering.
