If I set a respawn anchor I would not respawn there

So I set a respawn anchor in the end and fight the end dragon and I die (I had keep inventory on) and I don't respawn there. Instead, i was back in the overworld. Plz help. I had put 1.14 hotfix on affected version but I don't know what version.😬 Judge me if you want.
