Returning to a game will appear you in the wrong spot

1. make a hole with a hight of 2-3 blocks AND a few blocks above that limit. See [4.] for better results
2. save and quit. rejoin the world after you are in the menu
3. check out where you appeared to be on the world
4. (recommendation) make a vertical hole on the base of a tall mountain as described above for better observation. 

you will see that you appear above that  hole (maybe not directly where you left on the X and Z coordinated but near). on the top of the mountain if you use the 4. step

you sould appear back in, exaclty where you left , no matter what was the space you had above your head.
