MCPE-7966Line artifact above lowercase letters 'w' and 'o'
A small line artifact appears above the lowercase letters 'o' and 'w' near the base of the screen. This will appear on 'minecraft' font that is printed (not, for example, on a button). Any effects on the text, such as shadows or coloration, also apply to the artifact.
Tested with text in the hotbar, the chat section, the world list, and the settings. Screen resolution is 1920x1080; possibly only affects the iPhone 6 plus.

The bars are constant. I have noticed them only above item names in the hotbar, though a similar effect appears above torches and certain other non-full blocks in the inventory.
My device is set to English, and I do not believe I am able to edit the resolution? I will test the issue on an iPad Mini and iPad Air.

I have attached additional photos which better display the issue. Note that shadow effect underlying the artifact.
Resolution: Unresolved → Invalid
Not confirmed on Galaxy Note 3, probably just a problem with IOS devices. (Don't quote me on that.)

Hmmm, strange one.
Do the bars stay there all the time or do they flicker or disappear before the rest of the text? Does it also happen to text in the chat messages? Can someone else running MCPE on an iPhone 6 Plus confirm?
Pat, do you run your device with multiple languages or at different resolutions?
I can't think of what could cause that issue.
Edited the ticket with updated information. Apparently it affects all text using the 'minecraft' font.
Fixed with the release of iOS 8.3. Must have been a compatibility issue.
I would like to report that this issue is back when using custom default8.png inside the "<resource_pack>/font" folder, with resolution higher than the default 128x128 pixels.
fontError_256x.jpg shows the error when adding a default8.png at 256x resolution. The line appears above some of the small letters. It also shows that there is a slight antialiasing going on.
fontError_1024x.jpg shows the error when adding a default8.png at 1024x resolution. This time the antialiasing is not present anymore.
From what I can tell, that small artefact is part of the character above the small letter from default8.png
I'm also attaching the 2 higher resolution default8.png files so you can test them out: default8_256x.png and default8_1024x.png
I am also hearing isolated reports of this being an issue on vanilla worlds, with no RP attached.
