North/east-facing wall texture repeats when forming pillar

When a wall transitions to a pillar, part of the texture is repeated on the north/east-facing sides. This is especially noticeable for stone brick walls.

 

Contrast with the south/west face, which looks fine

 

How to reproduce

1. Build a wall like seen in the above screenshots
2. Look on both sides
   →  Exactly one side has this repeated texture problem
