Animal drowning on lava

So, I made 2 auto farms, cow and chicken. It as a system that uses lava to kill and Cook the Meat wen the animals grow up. But now, instead, they are drowning on the the lava.

As far as I can tell, they get burned if the lava hits the body, but if its only the head, they drown.
