Touch controls glitch when screen rotated

Samsung Galaxy S4. In creative or survival while holding down a direction of motion on the D-pad or hitting something on screen, rotate your device so the screen flips. Let go of the screen and your player will continue the action until you touch the screen again. I expected the player to stop the action when the screen flipped because where I was touching was no longer under the D-pad or under the same place on the screen being touched.

Can someone with an ipad or other non-samsung device try this to see if it is device specific?
