Maps do not appear in hand

Maps wont appear in hand or on item frames

I recently downloaded the game for PC to try out the new RTX features, but have not been able to get my map to work. tried in different seeds including the new RTX demos, with resource packs on & off, and have had no luck using a map. Regular map, locator map, in an item frame...no luck. Is this a beta Issue?, some advice on how to resolve would be much appreciated
