Sugarcane Above Broken Block Doesn't Break

Sometimes when you're harvesting sugarcane, any sugarcane blocks above the one you break may stay floating instead of breaking as it should. It's not a ghost block because it can be broken if it's directly mined/punched and gives me a sugarcane in return. Attached is a screenshot, hope that's somewhat helpful
