Beacon Haste 2 has little to no effect on efficiency 5 Pickaxe.

Have tried replacing blocks and double checking the pyramid. Shows that I have haste 2 but does not allow user to mine stone any faster when using efficiency 5 pickaxe. Not just me either friends in my world also “have the effect” but do not experience the fast mining or faster melee swings.
