windows 10 code not apprearing

I have had Minecraft java edition since the 31st of December 2016, and i have heard if you had bought Minecraft java edition before October 2018 you could claim Minecraft windowns 10 edition free of cost. i have tried watching youtube videos trying to find where my code is and its not there.
