Plz help me with this issue .I can't join my friend world nor can he

I have this serious issue. Whenever I try to join my friend's world it says "unable to join".my frnd can't join my world either.we have the same and the latest version and signed in to xbox.plz can u tell me how I can play with my friend I had downloaded this game just to play with him.plzz help me..
