Problem with joining worlds and having people join mine (Xbox Bedrock)

I have a problem where I am unable to play multiplayer sessions. Whenever I try to join, or someone tries to join me, I get stuck on "Generating world, locating server" until it either disconnects or I quit the game. I have tried restarting my xbox several times, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and have been looking everywhere for a solution. No other game I own has a problem like this, so it is unlikely that it is a problem with my wifi. Please help me to fix this so I can enjoy the game with my friends and family.
