lower slab making phantom fly through me

on the picture i have here , you would normally always be getting dmg , but as i am standing on a lower slab the phantom just fly through me and keeps coming back and trying to hit me but it does not .. so when ever phantoms attack and i stand on normal block i take dmg but when i move to lower slab i am invincible to phantoms
