nether portal closes the game instantly

This bug was not happening until then, but after the last time I entered minecraft this error started to happen. The error consists of every time I enter the portal of the nether the game closes instantly, I tried to build another portal because I thought it could be a bug of that specific portal but it didn't work. Any help would be useful as the nether is an important part of the game, which I cannot access.
