Slime blocks and furnace broken

On my Xbox and phone I have noticed that, first of all, when I put hoppers on the side of a furnace to put fuel in, the fuel just sits in the hopper, not doing anything. The most annoying issue, however, is with slime blocks.  First of all, if I am standing on a slime block and activate a piston below it, I get launched up, but also get pushed a block to the side.  In particular, it has always been west that I get pushed.  Also, sometimes I just don't get bounced up.  Occasionally there are also wierd particals sometimes when I land on the slime blocks that I recognise as being 'update blocks' those wierd green and brown blocks
