Overkill Trophy not popping.

To get the "Overkill" trophy you have to do 9 hearts of damage in one hit. I've done this several times with my enchanted diamond sword and strengh 2 potions. I've been 1 hit killing mobs such as skeletons, zombies and spiders etc and the trophy still hasn't popped.
