I can't see other people's chat in game.

Can't Chat

When I'm joining a external server all the server messages come through like _____ joined the game, but I can't see other people's chat messages! I've looked at all my settings and I have tried everything. My Microsoft account is XxSher22Xx if that helps at all. I just really want to chat with other people again!
