“Account Error Number -9” Nintendo Switch version won't connect to Microsoft account/marketplace, game crashes

When I run the game, I get an error message that says "Account Error Number -9", and then the game prompt me to relogin to my Microsoft account. But while I try to do that, the game crashes. It's basically unplayable.
