mining any stone does not leave anything to pick up

I have a galaxy note 2 phone. I have tried to search for this problem but I have not come across it, so sorry if this might be a duplicate reported issue.

When I mine anything, I am unable to collect anything except dirt. After mining stone for example, it does not leave anything to be picked up. I tried to create another game in survival mode and it is doing the same thing.
