Can't enter the Nether

Recently in my survival world i built a 22x22 Nether portal. After activating it, I can't accesss the Nether. After entering the portal my game just crashes. I've tried multiple things to make it work. I reinstalled the game, I tried deactivating the portal and entering through another. Nothing seems to be working.
