My Xbox 1 doesn't Have any Cross-play for Minecraft

I downloaded minecraft a few years ago and just tonight I found out about Cross-Playing with other consoles and devices. Me and my friend who has a PS4 were going to play together but my minecraft doesn't have the Cross-Play on it. I have the only "Minecraft" version not "Minecraft: Xbox 1 edition". I dont know if I have the Bedrock Edition and if I do then it is not working and I cannot play cross-play. I have tried many things seen on youtube and yes I have an xbox Live account and my minecraft is logged into it. I would like it fixed so me and my friend can play together. Please let me know if you figure anything out for me , Thank you.
