Boats clip into rising ice blocks

I attempted to make a rising ice bridge, images of it attached below, however, instead of doing as intended, the boat sometimes doesn't rise with the platform, instead clipping into the rising ice block. I went to see if a friend could replicate the glitch in Java, but it seems this is only a bedrock issue.

Steps to reproduce

1. Make an ice boat road with a 2 x 2 rising platform as shown in the attached images or video. (Or a 1 x 2 rising platform as in the second example in Boat over rising ice.mcworld.)
2. Ride a boat down the road and over the platform.

Expected result

The platform lifts the boat every time.

Actual result

Sometimes the boat clips into the ice.
