Non-functional multiplayer

The game will not allow me to play multiplayer with my friends. I cannot join their worlds and they cannot join mine. We all restarted our consoles and tried again but the same issue occurred so we’re relatively certain it’s a problem that’s popped up in the recent content drop. On attempting to join the game will keep a player stuck on the mojang logo loading screen and then crash, giving the message "minecraft took too long to start"
