Beta bug: dark spots sporadically appear despite nearby torches

Throughout my base, I have noticed dark spots appearing even though there is a torch one block away from the dark spot. They do not stay for a long time, and they do not form consistently. I have noticed them most often when I return from the nether. Not a pressing issue, but a bug nonetheless.
