I can't play properly with my friend

When my friend joins the server via Playstation 4 invitation everything is fine but right when I see his nametag my game immediately crashes. Its not anything like chunk/entity overload because we have tried on multiple newly created worlds and the bug still occurs. I'm not sure if anything is wrong with my console because I have cleaned up the disc multiple times and restarted the console many times as well. This bug started occuring today 4/19. It has never happend ever to me. Thank you for your time.
