Monsters won't spawn

I created a monster trap in the bedrock edition of Minecraft on ps4. The room is 25 blocks above ground and completely dark with no light source, the room is also made of solid block, however I've been sitting in the dark room for about an 1 hour and no monsters have spawned. What is going on?
